The trend of E-Commerce businesses in UAE is all set to take heights. By 2025, Dubai eyes a $50 billion market by launching an eCommerce ecosystem. It will help in the growth of the eCommerce sector across the region. Free zone DMCG and the Dubai government have inaugurated the DMCG e-commerce ecosystem. It is currently valued at $32 billion, and by 2025 it will reach $50 billion. DMCG is currently home to at least 290 companies in the eCommerce space, like Instashop and JustLife.
How does the eCommerce ecosystem work in Dubai?
DMCG’s eCommerce ecosystem looks forward to capitalizing on the ever-growing demand in this sector, which will allow small and medium eCommerce companies to operate from a convenient location. It will also have easy access to workspace order fulfillment services and delivery options. DMCG is all set to facilitate the sector’s growth with its leading trade infrastructure. The new Dubai ecosystem is being launched in partnership with the largest self-storage provider in the Middle East, which is The Box.
Besides that, members will access a vast range of storage solutions, from warehouses to lockers. Moreover, DMCG and the box will offer great support for eCommerce people in business besides SMEs.
What does the program promise?
This program also provides subsidized rates for storage besides DMC G licensing and one-to-one mentorship sessions, customized workshops, and access to exclusive networking opportunities with a community of more than 22,000 businesses.
CEO of DMCG Ahmed Bin Sulayem said in a statement that quick digitalization across the country and vast region is driving growth in the ecommerce sector at an excellent rate. The growth would be compounded by the trends like social media influencers selling products through their channels and established brands now turning to online sales. There is also a timely and apparent need for a comprehensive platform that provides everything the eCommerce business needs to succeed.
The future of Ecom is all about optimism
The primary objective of the eCommerce ecosystem is to deliver acceleration to the companies and offer them the benefits they need to grow. Dubai companies interested in joining the ecommerce ecosystem can choose from three available packages i.e., premium, starter, and essential. It is different from the accelerator program as ecommerce businesses can receive anywhere around a 50% discount on the DMCG business license, an excellent working desk, or a private office space besides storage solutions if they choose these packages.
The founder and CEO of the box, Wadid Haddad, recently said that storage, last-mile delivery, and fulfillment are essential to the success of any ecommerce business. The company is delighted to join with DMC to support the ever-growing needs of the ecommerce ecosystem. Also, they look forward to supporting everything by providing access to the state of art infrastructure enabling ecommerce entrepreneurs and small business enterprises to fulfill the brand promise.
The eCommerce business licenses given by DMCG cover several activities within the sector, like payment services, trading delivery services, and related consulting services from reputable Dubai-based firms.
